Plaintiff's Award of $1.6M in Nine Day Breach of Contract Trial.

U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma awards $1.6M

Client: Plaintiff, Legend Directional Services
Venue: U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma
State: Oklahoma
Trial Length: 4 days
Practice Area(s):
Verdict/Award: $1.6 million

This case arose from a 2022 breach of contract suit filed by WWHGD's client, Legend Directional Services.

During construction of a gas pipeline project in which Legend Directional Services was a subcontractor of Horizon Pipeline and Construction, LLC, Legend bored holes under two rivers in Oklahoma. The general contractor, Horizon Pipeline and Construction, LLC,  refused to pay over $600,000 in invoiced amounts and rejected a change order totaling nearly $200,000.

Despite the Court having ruled in our client’s favor on roughly 40% of the claim before trial, the defendant refused to offer a significant sum to settle the case.

WWHGD’s trial team, led by Jonathan Head and second chair Ethan Wilkinson, prevailed in a four-day trial, where the jury ultimately awarded all the monies claimed plus interest and attorneys’ fees.
