Summary Judgment granted against contractor; Mis-licensure is the same as non-licensure in Alabama.

Attorney Jonathan Head recently obtained a favorable summary judgment ruling in a seven figure construction dispute in Baldwin County, Alabama on behalf of its residential real estate developer client. Head successfully argued that defendants' affirmative claims were barred because it did not have the proper Municipal and Utilities (MU) sub-classification to its general contractor’s license. This failure rendered any contract or claims derived from that contract void as a matter of law.
