Sugar Refinery Explosion Case.

The Facts: WWHGD’s client owned and operated the second largest sugar refinery in the world, which exploded in February 2008, allegedly due to excessive sugar dust. The fire destroyed the packaging houses and silos.  The incident was the largest industrial accident in Georgia history.

Case results: Resolved all 49 lawsuits on behalf of 70 claimants under favorable, but confidential terms, prior to trial.

Number of Claimants: 14 deaths; 56 injuries; 25 severe burn victims; 70 claimants; 49 lawsuits
