Lee Roberts Inducted Into American College of Trial Lawyers

Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial is pleased to announce that partner D. Lee Roberts Jr. has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America.

“This recognition is a direct result of Lee’s outstanding reputation and unwavering dedication to professionalism and client service,” said David Dial, managing partner of Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial. “Lee is an outstanding trial lawyer, whose leadership helps cultivate, honor and preserve the mission and values upon which the firm was founded.”

Founded in 1950, the College is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds, who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of 15-years trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship.

Membership in the college cannot exceed 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province. The College maintains and seeks to improve the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice through education and public statements on independence of the judiciary, trial by jury, respect for the rule of law, access to justice, and fair and just representation of all parties to legal proceedings. The College is thus able to speak with a balanced voice on important issues affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice.
Roberts joins colleagues Ben L. Weinberg, Sidney F. Wheeler, and Robert G. Tanner as Fellows of the prestigious College.

Roberts is considered one of the top trial lawyers in the United States and is often brought in shortly before trial once it becomes apparent that a case is not going to settle and experienced trial counsel is desired. He represents clients in litigation across a wide variety of practices, including product defect, toxic tort, healthcare, wrongful death, professional negligence, contracts, business torts, and indemnity claims. Roberts has been involved in some of Nevada’s most high-profile trials, including obtaining a defense verdict in David Copperfield’s highly publicized trial in 2018. In 2013 and 2018 he was voted Las Vegas’ “Lawyer of the Year” for Construction Litigation by Best Lawyers.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from the College of William and Mary Law School.
