Las Vegas Office Gives Back to Local Community

LAS VEGAS (March 15, 2017) --- The Las Vegas office recently donated their time to local organization, Three Square.  WWHGD annually works with this charity in the Las Vegas area donating time and resources to help alleviate hunger for families in the local area. 

The WWHGD team helped sort through 22,100 pounds of donated food for individuals who are food insecure and hungry in the community – helping feed over 5,500 families.  By working with a service network of approximately 1,300 community partners, including non-profit and faith-based organizations, schools and feeding sites throughout Southern Nevada, Three Square is on track to provide 45 million pounds of food and grocery product over the next year – the equivalent of 38 million meals.

Three Square is Southern Nevada’s only food bank providing food assistance to the residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark Counties.  The estimated number of food-insecure people in the area is more than 296,000.  Three Square sources food, raises funds, and relies on volunteers to help supply their program partners with the food and services they need to provide wholesome food directly to hungry people in hundreds of neighborhood locations in all four counties.
