Overview
Scott is an experienced litigator and trial lawyer and has successfully represented individuals and companies from multiple industries for over 30 years. His practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on catastrophic injury, professional liability, product liability, healthcare and Section 1983 liability, food safety, transportation, hospitality, insurance, and construction.
Scott has directed the defense of multi-party litigation, including the defense of hundreds of prison inmate claims for a healthcare provider. More recently, he obtained a defense verdict for a product manufacturer at trial on wrongful death claims totaling $60 million. He has been brought into a number of cases on the eve of trial for trial strategy, preparation and participation, and critical motion practice. In one case, he obtained reversal of a prior summary judgment order on Day 1 of trial, completely altering the course of trial which ultimately resulted in a full defense verdict.
Whether the goal is to obtain a defense verdict, obtain judgment through motion practice, or negotiate a favorable settlement, Scott leverages his experience to help clients develop their best defense strategy and most favorable outcome.
