Overview

Shane litigates and tries commercial, complex tort, product liability, premises liability, and trucking/transportation matters. He manages cases in state and federal courts across the United States. Shane has successfully tried multiple cases to verdict; secured favorable summary judgment orders; and recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients.

Shane is creative, innovative, resourceful and reasonable, and uses these attributes to provide his clients with top-shelf representation in high-exposure matters. His clients include companies in the trucking, transportation, logistics, consumer products, hospitality, consumer products, and real estate/housing industries.

Over his career, he has developed expertise in representing trucking and transportation companies in high-stakes matters, from rapid-response accident investigation through trial. A trusted advisor for many trucking/transportation companies, Shane knows and understands commercial vehicle technology, complex accident reconstruction, biomechanics/occupant kinematics, human factors, and the applicable state and regulatory framework. He frequently presents on these topics and has become a “go-to” consultant on them.

Shane also defends complex premises liability (involving claims varying from negligent security to human/sex trafficking) and product defect (from infant product to firearm) cases. He has obtained numerous favorable outcomes for his clients in such cases over the years.

DataGavel uses the power of deep collaboration and analytics to help its tort clients achieve better results.

  • Trial counsel for a commercial truck warranty company in the successful defense of Plaintiff's breach of contract and bad faith claims in Oklahoma.
  • Counsel for a pipeline owner in the successful defense of wrongful death and personal injury claims arising from a pipeline explosion; cases litigated in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
  • Defense of manufacturers, distributors and suppliers in catastrophic tort and product liability litigation throughout the United States.
  • Prosecution and defense of high-exposure construction litigation and subrogation matters.
  • Recovered almost $5 million for plaintiffs injured in bus accident in Mississippi.
  • Counsel for a luxury casino in the successful prosecution of a $70 million loss involving construction defect and engineering design claims.
