Overview

Nan Rigby's practice focuses on civil litigation and mediation with an emphasis on insurance coverage and employment litigation. Her clients include both private and public employers of all sizes. In addition, Nan provides preventative advice to clients for avoiding discrimination and other employment-related suits and strategic counsel regarding executive contracts and severance negotiations.

  • Successfully defended accounts-receivable outsourcing management firm in three separate suits alleging wrongful termination due to race and gender, with additional allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation; obtained summary judgment in each case.
  • Successfully defended America's top-selling snack-food brands manufacturer in suit claiming slander and tortious interference.
  • Successfully represented municipal government in Americans with Disabilities Act claim, resulting in the establishment of valuable precedent in the Eleventh Circuit for public employers.
  • Represents one of world's largest insurance firms in coverage litigation.
  • Obtained summary judgment for the leading U.S. consumer magazine publisher and Southern-based affiliate in dispute involving right to produce Georgia travel guide.
